Ronald Koeman came into the match knowing that this would be the toughest of his tenure so far. The Catalan giants were looking to build on their 4-0 and 3-0 wins over Villarreal and Celta Vigo respectively.
The hosts soon found themselves behind when Luuk de Jong scored for Sevilla in the 8th minute.
